Who We're Looking For:

Xwing is seeking a Software Tools and Infrastructure Lead to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Software Engineering team's tools and infrastructure. This role will oversee engineering workflow automation, CICD, data ingest, cloud and on-premises infrastructure management, and be responsible for supporting the efficiency of the broader Engineering team in the execution of their work.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

Architect pipelines for cloud and local/offline data engineering to support engineering activities in Perception and Autonomy

Lead a small but mighty team to gather requirements from internal customers, design tools, develop prototype workflows, work with internal customers to deploy and refine them

Train other Engineering teams to take ownership of workflow tools, and assist with updates and maintenance

Help design and build tools that extract insights from real and simulated test flights, including ETL tools that assist in sorting, filtering, and selecting data subsets, tag video and other large data sets with metadata

Work with other software engineers to design scalable microservice architectures for our systems such air-ground communications, weather, air traffic, mission planning, and fleet management

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience writing production code in one or more of: Python, Rust, Go, Java, C/C++

Experience architecting, developing, and deploying scalable distributed systems

Extensive experience building, instrumenting, running, and monitoring containers

Strong experience in Linux-based infrastructure and administration, both locally and in the cloud

Experience with LAN/WAN networking essentials such as IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and cloud security

Demonstrated experience in automating and integrating tools used in a software development workflow, such as logging, monitoring, visualization tools

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with ETL and related processes for ingesting data and making it readily available for analysis

Experience working with ML workloads and Perception data sets such as video, audio, and rosbags

Extensive experience integrating data engineering tools with Snowflake for metadata management

Experience with system administration tools such as Ansible

Familiarity with cross-platform software development processes and tools

Experience with AWS GovCloud or similar services
